TAMSEC-Technology and Methodology for Security and Crisis Management at Mötesplats Samhällsäkerhet 2017

For the third time, Security Link organized TAMSEC-Technology and Methodology for Security and Crisis Management, in conjunction with Mötesplats Samhällsäkerhet, 28-29 November at Kistamässan. The goal of TAMSEC is to create a meeting place where academia, institutes, government and industry discuss new research in technology and methodology for security and crisis management.

The TAMSEC conference program started on Tuesday morning with representatives from VINNOVA and FOI presenting the 2018 calls within Horizon 2020 – Secure Societies. On Wednesday morning, Svenja Stövén from the European CBRNE Center in Umeå presented the Safety and Security Test Arena, in which rescue authorities collaborates with companies and researchers to develop solutions for optimal collaboration at accident and injury sites.

TAMSEC also offered two seminars linked to the conference program of Mötesplats Samhällsäkerhet. Per Jonson, FOI presented techniques to ensure the quality of our drinking water, such as the electrical tongue that currently is being tested in Swedish water purification plants. TAMSEC also followed up on the seminars on IT/cyber security at Mötesplats Samhällsäkerhet with a discussion led by Panos Papadimitratos, KTH, and Erik G. Larsson, Linköping University on opportunities and risks with Internet-of-things and how technology affects personal integrity.

During both days, researchers presented and discussed their research projects in the poster exhibition with topics spanning over early warnings of imbalances in the power grid to weaknesses in 5G technology and how to locate victims in collapsed buildings based on sensor fusion. Researchers Olle Abrahamsson and Erik G Larsson from Linköping University were awarded with the prize of “TAMSEC 2017 Best Poster” for their contribution “Hide and Seek in a Social Network”.
